macOS 14 Sonoma is now available for you to install via the Self Service App. This new update brings improved features and enhanced security.

How to install macOS Sonoma via Self Service

  1. Save and close any documents currently open.
  2. Launch the Self Service app (white icon) in your dock.
  3. Locate the Upgrade to Sonoma policy, if unable to locate, click on the featured/core software menu. Now click the upgrade button.
  4. Follow any further on-screen prompts, you will be asked to enter your login password.
  5. This major macOS upgrade requires 44gb of hard disk space available.

  • Mac Studio introduced in 2022 or later
  • Mac Pro introduced in 2019 or later

Your computer may feel slightly slower immediately following the upgrade, especially on Intel Macs. This is due to the re-indexing of files on your disk for Spotlight and other optimisations. This should not take longer than twenty-four hours. We are not aware of incompatibilities with any software that Orchard currently provides.
